Guanacaste’s tour market is built around single days: operators here run morning and afternoon departures from the beach towns and return you to your hotel the same evening. Packages that run several consecutive days, with accommodation and transfers bundled in, are genuinely rare in this province, and we only list the ones we can check.
The usual alternative is to build your own. Pick one base and stack day trips from it — the beach towns are close enough together that a single hotel reaches most of the province, and the drive from Liberia airport to the furthest of them is under three hours. A week in Tamarindo or Playas del Coco can take in a volcano, a catamaran, a rainforest and a turtle beach without ever changing rooms, and you keep control of the pace and the price of each day.
The case for a packaged multi-day trip is different: it suits travellers who would rather not drive, who want the logistics handled, or who are combining Guanacaste with Arenal or Monteverde, where the distances start to justify moving hotels.
